Fees
At Bitterroot Psychological Services, psychological evaluations are broken down into two types of fees: (1) the initial session and (2) the testing process.
The initial session is billed at a flat rate of $300. This is a 60-90 minute initial diagnostic session with the parent(s)/guardian(s) where the main concerns are discussed and information is gathered on the child’s developmental, medical, psychological, social, academic, and family background. The information gathered in this session is used to shape the testing process.
Testing services, which include preparation and review of records, test administration, test scoring, interpretation, interviewing/consulting with other providers or teachers, report writing, and feedback session, are charged at $165 per hour. The total number of testing service hours needed for an assessment varies, typically ranging from 13-16 hours (about 4-6 of which are direct testing with your child).
Most insurance companies that offer mental health benefits will reimburse you or me to some extent for services offered (check with your insurance company about coverage for out of network care). However, the terms and extent of these benefits vary widely and change regularly. You (not your insurance company) are responsible for full payment of our fees. It is very important that you find out exactly what mental health services, if any, your insurance policy covers. You should carefully read the section in your insurance coverage booklet that describes mental health or behavioral health services or call your plan administrator with questions.
