Psychological Assessments

Available for children, adolescents, and young adults (4-21yo), with services available to adults (21+) based on capacity of provider.

Comprehensive Psychological Assessments are a multi-step process that take about 4-6 weeks from start to finish. They begin with an initial interview during which we discuss your concerns, the question you’re trying to answer, and create a thorough personal history.

Based on this interview, it is determined whether your question is appropriate for a psychological assessment. If we move forward, a unique set of psychological tests are selected by your provider. Your provider will also request permission to contact important people for more information related to your question (e.g., a child’s teacher, an adult’s therapist, etc.).

The selected tests are administered at a second meeting, which can range in time from 2-4+ hours in length. After administration, the tests are analyzed and interpreted, and a comprehensive report is written.

This report reviews relevant personal history, outlines your concerns, documents test results, provides a synthesized interpretation of test results to answer your question, and details recommendations for services, treatment, lifestyle or behavioral modifications, and more based on the results of the assessment.

Finally, the last piece of this process is a “feedback” meeting in which you receive the report and review it with your provider. Most of this meeting is spent discussing the interpretive findings, what they mean, and the provider’s recommendations for next steps.
